Baby Showers

Today I'm sharing some of the first cupcakes I ever made, and I'll admit... I'm pretty proud of them!

This little beauty is going to be three years old in May. THREE. What? Have you ever looked through your photos from the past few years and thought to yourself, "Was that seriously *however many* years ago?!" I don't know about you guys, but I have GOT to start slooowing down. Life is so busy. I wish I could just take a chill pill and sincerely enjoy the priceless little moments I share with my children each day. They're only little for so long! Here is a picture of Savannah now, along with little brother Jaxon who will be ONE next week!

Okay, enough of my munchkins... but aren't they just adorable? ;-) On to the cupcakes! These first cupcakes are the ones I made for my (Yes, my own) baby shower. I had just finished a cake decorating class, and was totally stoked to create my own masterpiece... so my mom volunteered me to make the cake. Thanks, Mom. No really, THANK YOU! If I hadn't begun with these, who knows if I would have kept up with the baking/decorating at all? I had so much fun baking and decorating these cupcakes!
  • Chocolate with Cheesecake Filling and Cream Cheese Frosting
  • Lemon Cream with Zesty Lemon Buttercream
  • Coconut Cream with Coconut Cream Cheese Frosting

Pretty cute, huh? Oh yeah, I forgot to mention that my husband (of course) made all of the ladybugs for these cupcakes! A little marzipan, a little food coloring, and a few hours later, Voila! I think my husband must really love me. :-)

These next cupcakes are some I made for a friend of the family's baby shower. Chocolate with Cheesecake Filling and Cream Cheese Frosting, and Vanilla Bean with Vanilla Buttercream.

I went pretty simple on these decorations. I got these cute picks from Hobby Lobby and just colored the frostings to match the theme. Still cute though, eh? They were pretty delicious ;-)

That's all for now.

Wedding Shower

This is one of my favorites yet, thank you Pinterest! I made this cute wedding dress cupcake cake for a bridal shower a couple months ago. This could also be used for a baptism!

For the dress, I made a batch of pumpkin spice cupcakes with cream cheese frosting, Mmm. Usually I add cinnamon to the cream cheese frosting for pumpkin cupcakes, but who wants little brown specs on their wedding dress? Not me! ;-)

I also did a batch of chocolate cupcakes for this event and iced them with the cream cheese frosting. Just in case you were wondering...

Chocolate + Cream Cheese = Heavenly.

That's all for now!

Thunder Up!

I had the opportunity to make cupcakes for a wedding a few months ago. The bride wanted chocolate with chocolate buttercream and vanilla bean with vanilla bean buttercream. Vintage pearl theme. Easy enough.

My husband is incredibly talented in many ways. He is so artistic and intricate with detail. I knew he was the guy for the job when I got an order for "Thunder Themed" cupcakes for the groom. These were red velvet with cream cheese frosting, then a fondant circle on top with a different Thunder Theme painted on each with food coloring. A bit more time consuming than the previously pictured, but so cool!

I don't remember how long it took us to finish painting all of these, but it was well worth the end product. What do you think? :-)

Elmo Birthday

These are some fun Elmo cupcakes I made for a friend of mine. Her son LOVES Elmo, so he got to celebrate his 2nd birthday with these cuties (:
